Elbow Pain Condition

There are basically 2 different types of elbow pain. These 2 conditions happen after overuse of the muscles near the elbow joint. Any activity that puts repeated stress on the elbow joint can cause it.

Tennis elbow is a pain condition around the outside of the elbow. ⁣
The pain is usually on the outside of the elbow, which may travel down the forearm when:⁣
∙ lifting or bending your arm⁣
∙ when gripping small objects, such as a pen⁣
∙ when twisting your forearm, such as turning a door handle or opening a jar

Golfers elbow is a pain condition that occurs on the inner side of the elbow.⁣
The pain is usually on the inside of elbow joint:⁣
∙ Inner elbow pain on twisting movements of the wrist.⁣
∙ Localised tenderness on the inside of the elbow.⁣
∙ Stiffness on bending or straightening the elbow joint, particularly first thing in the morning

Treatment for elbow pain

Extracorporeal shockwave therapy (SWT) is a newly introduced method for tennis elbow or golfers elbow management. We provide shockwave therapy to reduce inflammation in elbow joint. This is a therapy where it targets the tense muscle in deeper layer, to promote blood circulation, and accelerate body own healing response.

Dry needling is also one of the treatment that provide relief for elbow pain condition. As mentioned in earlier post, dry needling release the trigger points to improve flexibility, increase overall range of motion that may be limited due to elbow muscle tightness or scar tissue. ⁣

We will also include physiotherapy treatments, which involve ultrasound machine and soft tissue release on the affected area. This helps to relieve the pain and stiffness, as well as speed up your recovery process.

You should take a rest and stop any activity that’s causing the elbow pain. We will advise on certain stretches and strengthening exercises for you to do at home. ⁣
