>> Is there a body part that chronically aches, especially on low back or upper back when you sit for long time in office?
>> Do you have pinching pain in your shoulder when you try to reach out to the highest level of the cabinet in your kitchen?
>> Does one element of your exercise drill, be it squat or deadlift, fill you with dread, even though you’re lifting the similar weights just like the other day?
>> Is there a gentler form of movement you’re drawn to, or you’re forced to stop certain daily activities due to ‘some pain’ either in your low back or knee?
Many of us have an almost religious commitment to our routines, despite the fact that some of the activities might be harming us. Most of the people will ignore the first mild signal of pain and continue doing their routines, without realising these mild pain can be aggravated to severe stage. These symptoms can be related to low back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain, knee pain, hip pain or ankle pain, that’s limiting our daily routines. And this term ‘PAIN’ is often a clinically important sign of joint subluxation/dysfunction syndrome (JSDS).
A Joint Subluxation/Dysfunction Syndrome (JSDS) diagnosis is a clinical diagnosis defined by an a lists of signs and symptoms to identify dysfunction of spinal or extremities joints. When applied to the spine, it implies that the spinal motion segments and their associated soft tissues are the source of the pain, for example low back pain or neck pain. Joint-related pain conditions from the spine and extremities such as shoulder pain or knee pain are common nowadays. The basis for joint subluxation, be it from our backbone or our extremities, was founded on the concept of altered joint position that will interfere with neurologic impulses.
Chiropractors always believe that joint position as in important quality for normal joint function. When a spinal joint is either acutely traumatised or undergoes chronic repetitive stresses, it is assumed that asymmetric muscle tension is likely to develop and hold the joint in a position away from its neutral alignment. The central idea is that misaligned positions of spinal or extremities components can result in movement limitations and associated inflammatory changes leading to PAIN.
I know these are too complicated to be understood. In short, it means when you have pain signals from any parts of your body, even though it’s only mild soreness, the fact is something has gone wrong inside. We, as chiropractors will help you to identify the underlying causes of your pain and fix your problems.
